Agatha: Coven Of Chaos Just Like WandaVision Season 2 Says Debra Jo Rupp

According to returning actress Debra Jo Rupp, Agatha: Coven of Chaos is like WandaVision Season 2. The veteran actress made a notable appearance in WandaVision as Mrs. Hart, the wife of Vision’s boss in Wanda’s version of Westview. Given that almost everything we saw in WandaVision was fake, including Vision, it does beg the question of why Mrs’ Hart, and presumably her husband would return for Agatha?

As for why she’s back and what her role is, the actress is not talking. She’s understandably scared of the Marvel police. However, Rupp does compare the upcoming series to WandaVision Season 2 when speaking to Berkshire Magazine recently.

“It’s the second season of Wandavision for Marvel. It’s very much like American Horror Story, where each season is a whole new kind of a thing. I was shocked when they called me, because I really thought that would be it, and I was fine with that. But when they called, I got so excited because it’s a character I never get to play. She’s gonna be great fun.”

Rupp was prompted for more as to why she is so excited to be back as Mrs. Hart?

“I cannot tell you. I am terrified of these people. They are the most secretive people on the face of the Earth. You are forbidden to talk about anything. I’m afraid they would come arrest me. This I can tell you: I am basically the same person that I was in Wandavision, Mrs. Hart, but in a different kind of a thing. We’ve shot in LA, and I’m packing now as we speak, to go to Atlanta for two months to continue shooting.”

I’m genuinely unsure what to expect from Agatha, which is not a bad thing. WandaVision was…fresh. However, very stylized in how it was all put together as it moved through the era’s revealing Wanda’s fragile state. As far as we know, there is no Wanda and no Vision in Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Ergo, I think calling this WandaVision Season 2 may be the wrong expectation to set. However, it may well have felt like that for Rupp? The actors she was/is working with are all the same bar the leads. We need to remember one key difference this time around though. As far as we know, the only person in Westview currently under Wanda’s control is Agatha herself. To me that says everyone else will be their ‘normal’ selves.

Now, if WandaVision had been called Westview, then I’d be on board with this being Westview Season 2 for sure. I get the connections, but I’m definitely not expecting the same kind of show.
