Leticia Tonos Paniagua loves science fiction. The concept of the future with technology and artificial intelligence is so exciting that she wanted to use it in her post-apocalyptic movie Aire: Just Breathe.
The film tackles the issues of AI, environmentalism, and survivalism—all in an edge-of-your-set thriller.
Aire: Just Breathe is also the Academy Award for Best International Feature entry from the Dominican Republic.
The film stars Paz Vega (Sex and Lucia, Spanglish), Sophie Gómez (Monarca, Rosario Tijeras), and Jalsen Santana (Au Revoir, Achilles Redemptions). Leticia Tonos Paniagua directed the movie from the screenplay by Tonos, Junior Rosario, and Rodolfo Baez.
Here is the official synopsis:
In a nearby future, a conservation biologist battles extinction with the help of A.I., but after the arrival of an enigmatic traveler with a hidden past, the tension in this menage a trois will be as toxic as the world they live in.
