Alden Ehrenreich Reiterates He Would Return As Han Solo In A Solo Spin-Off

More Solo spin-off hints from Alden Ehrenreich? Read on for more details.

Yesterday we covered a story from Solo star Alden Ehrenreich. Ehrenreich had said he would be keen to return as Han Solo if the right opportunity arose. He also gave a small hint that he has heard some things, teasing there could be some plans in place. We pretty much know, (as does Ehrenreich) that Solo won’t get a sequel movie, but what about something on Disney+?

Ehrenreich recently appeared on the Happy, Sad, Confused Podcast. And once again he said he would return as Han Solo. Ehrenreich said he’d like to explore the character Solo becomes after the events of the movie. However, he also gave another vague hints that Han Solo could come back in an unconventional way. Now, I read this is a tease towards Disney+, but that’s just me. Check out the transcript below for yourself and make your own mind up.

“I would. It would have to be the right version of it. What’s cool and kind of free, in a way, is the real fun of Han Solo, my favorite part of that character, is something that kicks in at the end of the movie. It’s when he becomes that guy at the end, that’s the guy we love. So getting to that, and going from there is interesting, so we’ll see. But I think now they’re being so inventive with how they’re using Star Wars and putting out stories in a different way that maybe I could see some out of the box interesting iteration of it somewhere. We’ll see, who knows?”

Solo spin-off

‘Out of the box iteration of it somewhere’ kind feels like a tease at Disney+ to me? I said the same thing yesterday, I wouldn’t hate seeing this story continue in a streaming format. My colleague Shockey feel like a Crimson Dawn show is coming. You can check out his reasoning in the related section above. If a Crimson Dawn show was to happen, it would be weird to not have Qi’ra in it. Equally, given then time period, you could totally see Han, Chewy, and Lando making an appearance even if the show was not about those characters per se.

For now, it doesn’t feel like there are solid plans, maybe just initial ideas being floated around. That’s just reading between the lines of what Ehrenreich has said this week so far. So is a Solo spin-off on the cards, will it be a Crimson Dawn focussed show? Tell us what you think in the usual spot below.
