Alex MacNicoll is in the new coming-of-age film Heart of Champions starring Michael Shannon.
The Synopsis
After finishing last in the national championship, a college rowing team descends into turmoil and constant infighting between team leaders Alex (Alexander Ludwig, “Vikings”), Chris (Charles Melton, “Riverdale”), and John (Alex MacNicoll, “The Society”). A tough Army veteran, Coach Murphy (Michael Shannon, “Take Shelter”), arrives at the start of the new season to transform the status quo and unlock their true potential. Using his experience and unconventional methods to help them overcome petty rivalries and personal challenges, Coach Murphy must inspire these young men to learn what it takes to be a team before they can be champions.
The American actor, Alex MacNicoll has been a regular on television series like Prime Video’s Transparent, Netflix’s hit The Society and 12 Reasons Why among others. Along with appearances on films like The 5th Wave and The Last Rampage. Last year he was seen in Valley Girl and HBO Max Original Unpregnant.

I was connected with Alex MacNicolls via Zoom to talk about Heart of Champions. He shared how much he knew about rowing prior to the film and what it was like to row blindfolded. In addition to sharing what it was like to work with Michael Shannon and his version of leadership.
