ALF Reboot In The Works At Warner Bros. Television

The year is 2018. We currently live in a golden age of story-rich television, where the most ambitious tales can be put to the small screen so long as it has an audience. Unlike film, the medium is able to draw out the scope and tell pieces of long narrative that are almost more comparable to novels than films.

It’s in this ecosystem that we now have news of…ALF getting a reboot over at Warner Bros. Television. According to TVLine, the studio is at the early stages of reviving the 1980s sitcom that had a puppet in the lead role. If you’re too young to remember ALF on TV, fret not. We have your back.

ALF followed the titular ALF — whose name stands for Alien Life Form — an alien who crash lands in a suburb and ends up living with the Tanner family. It’s a pretty standard setup for fun shenanigans, and the series lasted four seasons, running from 1986 to 1990 on NBC.

One interesting idea that is being reported is that this new series would actually pick up with the same lead character emerging from Area 51 and readjusting to Earth and how it’s changed over the past couple decades. This idea is pretty cool, especially since the last episode saw him being captured by authorities and the ominous subtitle “to be continued” never coming to fruition.

Would you be open to seeing a reboot of ALF, and if so, would you want to see it as a continuation of the original series? Let us know your thoughts down below!
