There is a lot of anticipation for the upcoming fantasy series, The Wheel of Time from Amazon Prime Video. How could there not be? The series has sold over 90 million books worldwide. With that said fans got a little more insight about the series today during their panel at New York City Comic Con. There are two highlights we will cover here. First, there is the exclusive NYCC clip that you can watch below! Second is the announcement of new cast members that will be joining season two of the series.
Here is the exclusive NYCC 2021 Clip for The Wheel of Time
As you can see, the clip features the introduction in the series of Moriaine, played by Rosamund Pike. Fans will know that she is a member of an incredibly powerful organization called the Aes Sedai. They are made up of only women. The clip also features some of the series regulars that we will see in season one.
During their panel at NYCC, they also made some exciting announcements about new cast members joining The Wheel of Time for the second season. This includes Ceara Coveney who will play Elayne Trakand. She is a The Wheel of Time fan-favorite character. Along with Coveney, the series has also added Natasha O’Keeffe, and Meera Syal. Both of their roles are currently undisclosed.
The Wheel of Time is based on the best-selling novels by Robert Jordan. It was adapted for television by executive producer Rafe Judkins. Larry Mondragon and Rick Selvage of iwot productions, Mike Weber and Ted Field of Radar Pictures, Darren Lemke, Marigo Kehoe, and Uta Briesewitz will also serve as executive producers, with Briesewitz set to direct the first two episodes. Rosamund Pike will serve as producer and Harriet McDougal and Brandon Sanderson as consulting producers. The Wheel of Time is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television.

Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.
Amazon Prime Video‘s The Wheel of Time premieres on November 19 on their streaming service in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
