AMC Stubs A-List program has become so popular that they have decided to raise the price of their monthly service for new members in early 2019 for 15 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. Currently the service is $19.95 a month and it allows subscribers to see up to three films per week at any AMC location and in any format offered by them which includes IMAX and 3D.

Some states like Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington and District of Colombia will see their price go up to $21.95 per month. While in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York will see their plans raised to $23.95 per month according to Cinemablend. These price increases will be going in effect on January 9th, 2019.

The increase in price comes as AMC Theaters announced that they are on the verge of hitting 500,000 subscribers to it’s service in the four and a half month span that they have offered it. They will honor their twelve month protection plan for their early subscribers by not increasing their price until their one year anniversary of their plan. This price increase will help the movie theater chain to continue to operate in the green as the service has continued to grow in popularity. In less than a year they have reached their one year membership goal.

With the price increase also comes new features. Now the minimum age for a subscription is being extended from eighteen to sixteen years old and you will be able to charge multiple accounts on one credit card. By summer of 2019 AMC will also include a feature that will allow mobile ordering of food and drinks at the same time of ticket purchase. They are also going to be giving it’s members a ninety day notice before they make any further adjustments to their plan.

Since the launch of their service, AMC has reported it’s biggest quarter ever. The service has overall caused a boost in theater attendance. Given all the benefits that their plan offers they are not worried about a decrease in subscribers due to the price increase.
