American Underdog from Lionsgate tells the inspiring story of the then St. Louis Rams Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner. To me, it doesn’t feel that long ago that the Rams and the Titans battled it out at Super Bowl 34. There Warner became Super Bowl champion and the game’s MVP. Some of the younger sports fans may know him better as a television personality on sports shows. What most people (including myself) did not know was his struggle to get to his position as starting quarterback for the Rams.

This is where American Underdog takes over. Here Zachary Levi, Anna Paquin, and Dennis Quaid lead a talented cast in telling Warner’s story. Directed by the Erwin brothers, this film showcases the power of love, faith, and perseverance. It has the ability to inspire viewers to reach out for their goals regardless of their circumstances.
