Absent from the first two seasons the Andor Royal family cast has been announced for The Wheel of Time Season 3. Keen eyed book readers believed they had sight of at least one member from the recent teaser for Season 3. There were also some casting rumors, but now we have the casting officially.
As per Variety,
‘Variety has learned that Olivia Williams (“The Crown,” “Rushmore”), Callum Kerr (“Hollyoaks,” “Monarch”), Luke Fetherston (“Doctor Who,” “Big Mood”), and Nuno Lopes (“White Lines,” “The New Look”) have all joined the high-fantasy series at Amazon Prime Video. They will play members of the royal family of the kingdom of Andor.’
‘Williams will play Morgase Trakand, the Queen of Andor. The official character description states, “Morgase did not inherit her throne. Rather, when the succession was left without an heir, she waged a brutal war against a half-dozen noble rivals, and thanks to her political savvy and utter ruthlessness, she won. She has sworn ever since to shield her daughter and heir, Elayne (Coveney), from ever having to endure what she did… and do what she did. But far from being a tyrant, Morgase has become one of the best queens Andor has ever known.”’
‘Fetherston will star as Lord Gawyn of House Trakand. “A royal prince of Andor and brother to Galad and Elayne, Gawyn is a skilled fighter, famously handsome, and protective of his younger sister.”’

‘Kerr will play Lord Galad of House Trakand. who is described as “a royal prince of Andor, and older brother to Gawyn and Elayne. Despite being the first born, he is not the heir to the throne. Andor is a matriarchy, and so the role of heir falls to his younger sister, Elayne.”’
‘Lopes plays the role of Lord Gaebril, Queen Morgase’s male consort. “Both her lover and adviser, he assists in overseeing matters political and military. Andor is a matriarchal society, and so his power and influence, though vast, are always second to that of his Queen, to whom his loyalties and services are sworn.”’
Now obviously as a fan of the books there is a lot I could say about each of these characters. Suffice to say they are all important in their own way and should be around for…. more than one season. Well, if Season 4 get’s renewed that is.
The only actor here I am familiar with is Williams, pictured in the header above. Fantastic actress and she will do a great job as Morgase. So far though one thing this series has done really well is the casting of the roles. Therefore, I’m sure all four will be well suited. There is a lot of speculation about this news online folks and I warn you to be careful of SPOILERS. There are one or two details I think you’d prefer finding out as part of the story itself. Season 2 kicks off with a three episode premiere on March 13, Amazon Prime.
What do you think as the Andor Royal family cast has been announced for The Wheel of Time Season 3? Thoughts below as always.
