According to the latest Barside Buzz, Andy Muschietti will direct The Brave and the Bold for DC Studios new DCU. Muschietti was hotly tipped to be the top choice for The Brave and Bold which will be the first Batman film in the new DCU. However, as of now, nothing is official.
BSL from One Take News however, is saying he has now confirmed with several sources that Muschietti is who DC wants to direct the movie. Here is what the outlet had to say.
Andy Muschietti has been tapped to direct The Brave and the Bold for DC Studios, One Take News has confirmed with multiple sources. Warner Bros. did not respond to OTN‘s multiple requests for comment.
I trust BSL has good sources. Equally, it was heavily speculated that Muschietti was in talks anyway. One could look at this as a nothing story. That it adds nothing to the related story below. It’s still rumored and not confirmed after all. However, the fact BSL has now heard this from multiple sources tells me an agreement has been made. I think we have our third confirmed DCU director. The other two being James Gunn himself on Superman: Legacy and James Mangold on Swamp Thing.

So far we don’t know much about The Brave and the Bold. I’m guessing the pitch for it was James Gunn and Peter Safran’s idea and it’s been said it will deal with Bruce coming to terms with his biological son Damien Wayne. However, as yet, there is no writer attached to The Brave and the Bold yet.
As a big Batman fan, I’m not sure what this movie should be. I like the more realistic, gritty takes we’ve had lately, but this needs to be more of a Justice League style Batman. My mind when I hear the name always goes to that awful kids Cartoon Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Which, is probably the furthest thing from my mind in what I want to see in a movie about Batman. However, I can’t imagine that’s what is being planned here.
