Looks like the infamous demon possessed porcelain doll, Annabelle, will be back on another installment for New Line’s horror based franchise from the Conjuring cinematic universe.
According to the Hollywood Reporter Gary Dauberman, who has written the previous Annabelle films, will step up and make his directorial debut with this sequel to Annabelle: Creation. Along with directing the film, Dauberman will also be writing the third installment. They are also reporting that James Wan’s Atomic Monster and the Peter Safran Co., who has produced the other installments, will also be back on this project that has been scheduled for July 3, 2019.
2014’s Annabelle, which was directed by John R. Leonetti, grossed about $257 million worldwide on a $5 million budget and 2017’s Annabelle: Creation, directed by David F. Sandberg, made $306.5 million worldwide on a $15 million budget. With those type of numbers is would make sense for New Line to continue to push this franchise for another film.
Dauberman has been a very important figure in the Conjuring universe, not only has he worked on the two Annabelle films but he also wrote The Nun, which is scheduled to be released on September 7 of this year. Along with those projects he also has worked on It as well the upcoming sequel It: Chapter 2.
