Another Member Of The Justice League Teased In Snyder Cut

Superhero Origins: The Martian Manhunter | WatchMojo.com

Hey look, here we are back with your daily dose of Justice League Snyder Cut news. I have to admit that when the characters for the team were initially released I was a bit disappointed. The Justice League is obviously an expansive group with numerous individuals to choose from, but the omittance of Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter were the names I missed the most.

In the released film Snyder/Whedon at least acknowledged the concept of the Green Lantern Corps. in a flashback scene. Then there were discussions involving the Corps.’ inclusion moving forward. Unfortunately, the beloved J’onn J’onzz was nowhere to be found. Or so some of us thought.

New Deleted Scene With Martian Manhunter

Actor Harry Lennix played the role of General Swanwick in Man of Steel and reprised his role in BvS. After the announcement of the release of the Synder-Cut, Lennix took to Twitter and teased his actual role of Martian Manhunter. While this was fun to speculate about, Snyder then added the tweet to his Vero account which can be seen below.

“Watching over them all.”

There is a scene near the end of the film where Lennix changes into Martian Manhunter. Like so many other parts, this scene did not make the cut. Will we get to see this scene after all!?

This scene needs to be in the Snyder Cut. I am a huge fan of Easter Eggs, nods and appearances. If the proposed trilogy would have happened, making incorporating Martian Manhunter in this way would have been an interesting move. General Swanwick appeared to be a small role, but this setup made him watching the team over the course of time. That actually fits the character’s attributes well.

I have always viewed Martian Manhunter as one of the primary JL members mainly because of the comics in the 90s. He is an active member in the 2001-2004 cartoon as well. Plus, who could forget the awesome Super Powers Collection toyline? Martian Manhunter was one of the first figures I had.

I would love to see the deleted scene in the Justice League Snyder Cut in order to give the character some justice (see what I did there?)! It’s also good to include the scene to give Lennix some more love as well. What do you think? Would you like to see Lennix change into Martian Manhunter? Or, do you really not care and are over the Snyder Cut information? Also, did you have any of the Super Powers Collection figures? If so, who was your favorite? Leave your thoughts in the usual spot, and thanks for reading!
