Another Spice Girls Movie In The Works At Paramount?

Um…did I fall asleep and wake up in the wrong decade? Apparently, high-waist and baggy jeans are coming back in style, phones keep getting bigger…and we’re getting a new Spice Girls movie? Yes, you read that right. The girl power-fueled ’90s group is headed back to the big screen. Except, this time, instead of a goofy live-action comedy, we’ll be getting an animated feature.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. It ain’t the Spice Girls unless Victoria Beckham (Posh) is on board, right? Well, it’s your lucky day, because she’s on board too, along with Melanie Brown (Scary), Emma Bunton (Baby), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty), and (Geri Halliwell (Ginger). The film is in development at Paramount and is eyeing a potential 2020 release date. It will also feature classic and new songs from the group.

Taking on this mammoth job of penning the screenplay are Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith, the duo responsible for some movies as The House Bunny, The Ugly Truth, Legally Blonde, and 10 Things I Hate About You. Basically, it sounds like a couple of the big comedy hits of the 2000s and 90s — so I fully expect a ’90s and ’00s feel to it.

What do you think? I know, you can’t contain yourselves. You’ve been waiting for them to reunite on the big screen for decades now. Tell us how thrilled you are in the comments down below!
