It seems another spin-off series from The Batman was hinted at by The Penguin producer. The quotes below came during a recent roundtable with press for the upcoming The Penguin on HBO/Max. The Direct were present and asked some questions about the now cancelled Arkham Asylum show, which was originally set in The Batman universe, but then switched, and cancelled from the new DCU.
I’ll only include the relevant parts of the answer below from producer Dylan Clark.
“But her ideas and the story elements that relate to [Sofia Falcone], those are all new ideas for her and have nothing to do with the other series that we’re continuing to do.”
Now on it’s own we may think this is simply a misspoken response. However, who knows? Is it possible they are now developing Arkham Asylum again set back in the Reeves Verse? Another tantalising possibility is something new involving Harvey Dent, who briefly shows up in The Penguin. Matt Reeves was asked by another journalist about the possibility of a legal drama series following Harvey Dent?

While the two did not give a definitive answer, Reeves noted that the journalist was “thinking certainly in the way that our conversations have gone.”
Could a series showing the Harvey Dent origin get made before The Batman Part 2? If Dent is Two Face in the sequel it would make sense to show his trans formation. Though that’s a series I would expect to see Batman show up in, even if briefly.
I guess we will have to wait and see. As we know in development is a long way from getting made. Let’s just see how The Penguin is first. Eary reviews are strong, but the fans get a hold of it later this week.
