Another Ted Bundy Movie: Chad Michael Murray Cast As Bundy In American Boogeyman

I can’t tell you how many movies have been made on this famous serial killer. Men’s Health recommended eight Ted Bundy movies to watch in an article back in January, but I know there are more. I really don’t want to go down that rabbit hole to find out. We just had a Bundy movie with Zac Efron playing him in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile in 2019. Do we really need another?

Chad Michael Murray will play Ted Bundy in American Boogeyman

The Newest Bundy Movie

Voltage Pictures thinks so and Screen Daily reported that Voltage has decided to cast Chad Michael Murray as Ted Bundy in American Boogeyman. This movie will be released through Fathom Events in select theaters on September 20 and will be in theaters across the US on August 16. Daniel Farrands is the writer and director of American Boogeyman as well as one of the producers. The other producers are Lucas Jarach and Daniel Davila with Luke Daniels and Alan Pao as executive producers.

Jonathan Deckter, Voltage Pictures president and COO stated about Bundy and casting Murray for the role:

Ted Bundy is such a fascinatedly divisive character and is the true personification of evil.

Murray is so talented and expertly captures Bundy’s charm and seductive nature, traits that the notorious killer exploited to win the trust of his victims as well as society. It’s fantastic to continue working with the very gifted Lucas and Dan on this feature and bring engaging narratives to the screen.

I don’t have an issue with Chad Michael Murray playing Ted Bundy. I just don’t need another Ted Bundy movie.
