I really enjoyed Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp. I think Paul Rudd does a great job with Scott Lang and Michael Douglas passes as Hank Pym. I am saddened by the fact that we’ll never (or at least highly unlikely) get to explore the darker moments of Pym’s life, such as slapping and bug spraying Janet for example. Those kinds of things may be too dark for Marvel, but then again they did dust 50% of all life in the universe and have a decapitation on screen.
RELATED: Ant-Man 3 To Begin Filming As Early As 2021?
We found out last week that Ant-Man 3 is officially coming and now we know when they’re going to be filming. In a recent interview with Collider, Michael Douglas stated that filming for the 3rd pint-sized hero would begin in January of 2021. That would be plenty of time for a 2022 release date and have it see release the same year as Black Panther 2 and likely Blade.
It is weird, to me at least, that a hero whose last two films combined made $1.1 billion is getting a movie before Captain Marvel which made over $1.1 billion on its own. Many people think this is due to some behind the scenes issues with Brie Larson and others think it’s because she’s unlikeable to general audiences. I’ll point out again, she made over $1 billion on her first film and I don’t buy into the tin-foil-hat theories of Disney buying out theaters. Either way, I am stoked about Ant-Man 3.
