Ant-Man and the Wasp has had its first screenings as of this past weekend, and there is a lot riding on this. As important as each film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is a certain amount of pressure on these next three films, as they will be closing out Phase 3 of the studio’s unprecedented storyline. Though Ant-Man and the Wasp isn’t a film that sets out to out-epic Avengers: Infinity War, it manages to perhaps be even more of a crowd-pleaser than the recent films in the franchise, if you can believe the social media reactions.
Our own Gig Patta and Nancy Tapia had a chance to check out the film during this past weekend’s press junket, and Nancy’s first reaction on social media was as follows:
“It was ant-hilarious, and not overly done like Thor: Ragnarok.”
Okay, so those are the two cents of one of our interviewers, but what do others have to say about the film? Check them out:
Ant-Man and The Wasp is strong on the humor, amazing on the visual effects, creative in size manipulation, and clever in its "villains." Great movie.

Ant-Man and The Wasp is Marvel's best sequel since The Winter Solider. @EvangelineLilly is one of my new favorite super heroes. @MrPeytonReed knocked it out of the park!! Tremendous movie!

Ant-Man & The Wasp is crazy fun. Very self-contained, but brimming with energy, and full of cool and creative surprises. Super funny, and the entire cast is wonderful. I had a blast! pic.twitter.com/2lCeUGvzHW

Okay, so it seems clear from this that the excitement I had from watching the trailers is well founded. It looked like a fun action film with a good amount of comedy, and that it was well on its way to be the palate cleanser needed after Avengers: Infinity War.
