The Marvel Cinematic Universe may be heading full-steam towards its Phase 3 conclusion, and while it may be bringing that particular story to a close, there will forever be plenty of Marvel movies to enjoy long after. We’ve known for a while that the studio has plans well beyond Phase 3, and there are a couple films with pretty concrete plans we already know about.
These films are Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Spider-Man: Far From Home. But what’s the current status of these bad boys? Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige sat down with Collider and gave a bit of an update on these films and Captain Marvel, saying:
“[Guardians 3 Writer/director] James [Gunn] has delivered a draft and we begin official pre-production on that very, very soon. It’ll be shooting early next year. Captain Marvel finishes in about two weeks, Spider-Man starts in about two weeks, and then Guardians 3 will start early next year.”

In regards to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, I do wonder if they have a final draft, or if they still plan on giving revisions before heading into pre-production. Additionally, if there are changes to they made, will they had into pre-production regardless? That’s very possible, though it’ll likely depend on how many changes they will need.
Regardless, considering just how far away production is, they have plenty of time. Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to hit production soon, which confirms its release next year (though we kinda already knew that), and Captain Marvel is still set to hit early next year.
