In an announcement for both cinema and motorsport fans, Apple Original Films has revealed details about their upcoming feature “F1” and shared a teaser poster, which stars Academy Award winner Brad Pitt. Set against the high-octane backdrop of Formula 1 racing, Pitt plays a former driver making a dramatic return to the sport. He is joined by rising star Damson Idris, who will portray his teammate at the fictional team APXGP, as they face off against the formidable giants of the racing world.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for his blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick,” the film boasts a stellar cast. Alongside Pitt and Idris, the lineup includes Academy Award nominee Kerry Condon, Academy Award winner Javier Bardem, Emmy Award winner Tobias Menzies, Emmy Award nominee Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo.

“F1” is produced by a team, featuring Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films, along with Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B Entertainment. F1 legend Lewis Hamilton also joins as a producer under his Dawn Apollo Films banner, ensuring the film’s authentic portrayal of the sport. Copper CEO Penni Thow serves as the executive producer.

The production is a unique collaboration with the entire Formula 1 community, including the 10 F1 teams and their drivers, the FIA, and race promoters. This partnership allows for a truly immersive experience as the film is being shot during actual Grand Prix weekends, capturing the raw energy and excitement of the races.

Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute “F1” worldwide, with a scheduled release in IMAX® and theaters across North America on June 27, 2025, and internationally starting June 25, 2025. This cinematic journey promises to take audiences deep into the thrilling world of Formula 1, blending dramatic storytelling with the intense, real-life spectacle of one of the world’s most popular sports.
