Aquaman 2 Trailer Hijacked by Shazam For April Fools

In a pretty funny little joke, WB has released a trailer for Aquaman 2, well, not really. The trailer from the as yet unannounced Aquaman 2 is swiftly hijacked by Shazam, check it out. So no, sorry we clearly don’t have a trailer for a movie that as far as we know doesn’t even have a page of script ready. But it’s a nice sneaky little way for WB to get some extra exposure for their current big movie Shazam.

Shazam hits theaters everywhere on April 5, though select theaters started showing the movie this weekend in the US. The movie is currently sitting with an impressive 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and yet I get the feeling the movie isn’t going to blow the competition away at the box office. I haven’t been that impressed with the marketing campaign so far, and it hasn’t done much to convince fans to turn up in my opinion. Hopefully, the critical praise will turn into positive word of mouth and the movie will get its fair share of audiences.

I’ve always felt Shazam was released at a bad time sandwiched in between Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. However, who knows what the movie will bring in at the box office and what WB had targeted for the movie? I am personally planning to see the movie within the next week as my son thinks it looks good. Gotta be honest and say that without his desire to see it, I might have waited for home release and WB will hoping other fans don’t feel the same as I do.

What do you think of the April Fools trailer for Shazam and if you have seen the movie already what were your thoughts? Sound off by saying your secret magic words below in the usual place.
