Aquaman Officially Rated PG-13

More Aquaman news has surfaced. With less than four months to go, Aquaman hopes to wash away the bad taste of Justice League.  Will Aquaman have enough momentum to correct the course of the massive errant ship DC has let set sail? As a fan, I certainly hope so. Maybe this film will be the one to truly galvanize the fan base. Its obvious fans are hungry but if DC keeps serving up half-cooked films, they may find themselves being bitten by that very loyal fan base. Will we finally get a truly great DC movie outside of the Nolan-verse? Or will DC continue to show they have learned all the wrong lessons from the success of Nolan’s Batman films?

Now we find out that the film has been given an official rating of PG-13. That’s about what we expected. Nolan’s films were masterpieces while still adhering to a PG-13 rating so it’s not unfathomable that DC can pull off something spectacular. I’ll admit the Aquaman trailer did get me slightly jazzed for the film, but I can think back to a couple of years ago as I re-watched the Batman V Superman trailer mesmerized by the comic book authenticity of Batman’s suit.

Furthermore, DC has released the official credits for the film, and we have Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder listed as executive producers. In addition to the Snyder’s, Jon Berg, Geoff Johns, and DC Films president Walter Hamada have executive producing credits.

Aquaman splashes into theatres on December 21, 2018. Here’s hoping the film is a hint at what DC has been busy preparing for fans. CLICK HERE to see the full list of credits.

And in case you don’t know, here’s the synopsis for Aquaman.

“From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime — one that will not only force him to face who he really is but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be … a king.”
