Are You Afraid Of The Dark Story Details And Cast Revealed

If you were recently terrified by the dark and disturbing trailer for Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, you’re not alone. Yes, that thing was based on a kids’ book, but there’s no way in hell that thing’s actually aimed toward a younger audience — at least that wasn’t the impression I got while watching the trailer. But one property I do think will be skewing a bit younger while still having a few bumps and chills is Nickelodeon’s Are You Afraid of the Dark?

the upcoming three-episode-long limited series is written by Ben David Grabinski and will be directed by Dean Israelite (Power Rangers). If you’ll recall, the original show followed a group of kids around the campfire called The Midnight Society, who told scary stories. This new series will feature a new group of kids (duh) whose stories about a Carnival of Doom come to life.

So, unlike with the original series, this one looks like it will have a continuous narrative based on the stories being told. Pretty cool. But who will be playing the kids of this new Midnight Society?

According to Deadline, Sam Ashe Arnold (Best.Worst.Weekend.Ever.) will play Gavin, Miya Cech (Rim of the World) will play Akiko, Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl, The Worst Witch) will play Louise, Jeremy Taylor (It, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween) will play Graham, and Lyliana Wray (Top Gun: Maverick, Black-ish) will play Rachel. Playing the Carnival of Doom’s ringmaster, Mr. Tophat, is Rafael Casal (Blindspotting).
