A little bit of Barside Buzz around the upcoming Armor Wars movie from Marvel, as according to the latest rumor, both Justin Hammer and Val will appear. Val is also hinted at being the main villain, or at least antagonist of the film. The rumors come from Alex Perez from TCC who has a very good hit rate for Marvel. This would not be the first time there’s been a rumor of Justin Hammer returning. However, those have all been for Armor Wars when it was previously a Disney+ show. Since then no one knew if that version would survive. However, if this is true, then I think a lot of fans will be pleased.

I honestly would have suspected Power Broker to show back up eventually. Or else, why tease that (badly) within FATWS? However, I would not have necessarily pegged her as the person to appear in Armor Wars. I think Val seems a more apt choice, if this is all about a new Iron Man arms race.

However, as with all rumors, don’t take this as confirmation both characters will return. Alex has a good hit rate, but even trades don’t have 100%, especially on shows or films that haven’t even started shooting yet. In other words, even correct information can suffer from changes. What if Rockwell changes his mind or hasn’t agreed yet? Just an example, but an accurate one for how this business works.

That being said, I’m confident this rumor will stick and if so, I’m glad we are getting Rockwell back as Hammer. Iron Man 2 might not be the best Marvel movie, but Rockwell was great as Hammer opposite RDJ as Tony.
