Very good news for fans of the Terminator. When answering a Q&A for the fan site TheArnoldFans, Arnold Schwarzenegger was asked for film details and specifics on the upcoming film. Though he was mum on plot details, he did reassure fans the sixth iteration is in good hands.
“As you know, ‘Terminator’ is kind of his baby; so he does get involved in the filming,” he said, referring to producer James Cameron. “There were interesting discussions about which direction to go with a certain scene or how the dialogue should finish or what the certain look should be of an individual and all that stuff, so there was a big collaboration between Jim and Tim Miller. I feel it was in good hands with both of them.”
So, we know Deadpool’s Tim Miller is in the director’s chair. But according to Schwarzenegger, the film had multiple chefs in the kitchen. Let’s hope whatever recipe they’re using has the right kind of spice to reignite this franchise that has been devolving since Cameron’s Terminator 2. That’s got to be a good sign. The original director overseeing a passion project while in the middle of making his own original films, Avatar 2 and Avatar 3.

That’s got to be a tough nut to crack. Overseeing not one, not two, but three films. Schwarzenegger went on to speak about Cameron’s multitasking skills saying:
“Jim Cameron is right now directing ‘Avatar’ films, so he’s taken on this enormous challenge and he’s very busy with that, BUT he’s a control freak.”
If there’s one thing I’m certain of its got to be James Cameron’s ability to craft a great science fiction story. I mean this is the guy who brought us Terminator 1 and Terminator 2, Avatar, the upcoming Avatar sequels. Aliens! Can’t forget that one. Needless to say, I have some faith in Cameron’s involvement righting the franchises past mistakes.
