Slowly but surely over the past several months, Apple has been gearing up for their eventual streaming service that will rival the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. It has been rumored to launch later this year, so we expected an official announcement and service name would be coming within the next few months. Now, it looks to me like it will be coming much earlier than even I anticipated, based on recent rumors surrounding troubled productions of their original content.

Apple has officially sent out invitations for an event on March 25. This Monday event will take place at hits Cupertino headquarters where it is expected to officially unveil the subscription service. It is also expected they will be discussing a revamped news subscription service, though I guess that’s a tad less relevant than the video streaming service for us.

As I mentioned above, while this is pretty cool to hear, Apple has had some negative press in recent days. More specifically, there have been rumors of heavy interference from the execs, including Tim Cook. This interference includes content restriction, with them reportedly being against content that paints technology in a less than positive light. It has also reportedly caused massive delays, as the service was originally rumored to be hitting in the coming weeks. Now, it’s expected to hit late this year, and with only a handful of its planned productions finished.

Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what eventually happens. Apple is definitely forging ahead into new territory for them in terms of content creation, so growing pains are expected. Are you excited for their service? Let us know down below!
