Arrowverse Crossover Title Revealed As Well As An Iconic Character

One of the best part of the Arrowverse is its annual crossover event that usually introduces a new character to the mix. This year’s crossover will include only three of the DC superhero shows on The Cw which include Arrow, Supergirl and The Flash. Fans are looking forward to this year’s event because it will include the introduction of Ruby Rose as Batwoman. Today we got more information about the event which includes the title as well as a very important character in the DC Universe who will be making his first Arrowverse appearance.

This morning via Entertainment Weekly we learned that The CW has announced that this year’s three-night crossover event will be titled “Elseworlds”. Check out the banner below!

It’s an interesting title because usually in DC Comics, the title of Elseworlds is usually used to classify stories that are out of DC Continuity, “what if” stories”. Some of those stories include classics like Kingdom Come, Superman: Red Son and The Killing Joke. The use of this title gives us the idea that maybe the multiverse is in danger.

Another factor that supports this idea is the addition of the classic DC Comics’ character The Monitor a.k.a. Mar Novu who is described as “an extraterrestrial being of infinite power known as the Monitor.” He will be played by LaMonica Garrett of Designated Survivor. The Monitor was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez for their iconic crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths, where the Monitor was an alien being charged with watching over the multiverse.

This is setting up to be quite the crossover event. I would not be surprised if there are a few more surprises in store for us. What are your thoughts on the title of the event? Also, what do you think of them including the Monitor? Let us know in the comment section below!

The CW’s Elseworlds crossover event starts on December 9 with The Flash at 8pm. Then Monday, December 10 with Arrow at 8pm and finishes with Supergirl on Tuesday night, December 11, at 8pm.
