Arrowverse Elseworlds Set Photo Shows Black-Suited Superman Face Against Flash, Green Arrow, Superman, And Supergirl

The ambitious Elseworlds crossover draws ever nearer, though it’s still over a month from hitting The CW. However, that hasn’t stopped new photos and piece of news from hitting the web. It’s the internet, and new details are bound to pop up about the TV event that will see The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl cross over yet again.

We already know it will feature an unprecedented roster that includes Superman, Supergirl, the Flash, Green Arrow, and Batwoman, and we also know that something will lead to Barry Allen and Oliver Queen wearing each other’s costumes. We even know that we’ll be getting a black-suited Superman, but based on a new set photo, it looks as those this Superman may be a completely different character from your standard Superman.

As you can see, the black-suited Superman is holding Flash hostage, with the Green Arrow aiming to take out the rogue Man of Steel. Off to his left, Supergirl and Superman stand, equally as helpless as Oliver. Also, it looks like Superman may be holding a giant book of sorts — perhaps this explains the dark version of his character? Was he summoned in some way?

While I have no basis for this speculation, if I were a guessing man, I’d say this likely comes from the beginning of the story, and that whatever happens here is what sets the entire premise in motion, but I can also see it being the end of the crossover. In short, don’t listen to a damn thing I’m saying. But what do you think? Let us know down below!
