Ash Trailer Is a Trippy Sci-Fi Horror with Eiza González and Aaron Paul

Eiza González in ASH

Ash looks like a sci-fi horror that successfully combines psychological terror with psychedelic visuals.

Flying Lotus returns to behind the camera with Ash stars Eiza González (Baby Driver, Godzilla vs. Kong) and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, El Camino), giving us isolated outer space scares of Alien with plenty of psychological thrills.

Here is the official synopsis:

On the mysterious planet of Ash, Riya (González) awakens to find her crew slaughtered. When a man named Brion (Paul) arrives to rescue her, an ordeal of psychological and physical terror ensures while Riya and Brion must decide if they can trust one another to survive.

Flying Lotus also composed new music for the film. Jonni Remmler wrote the screenplay. The rest of the cast includes Iko Uwais, Kate Elliott, Beulah Koale, and Flying Lotus.

Flying Lotus has a unique style when it comes from behind the camera. His 2017 Kuso is also trippy and blends animation into storytelling. And he’s no stranger to horror, as he directed the “Ozzy’s Dungeon” segment in 2022’s V/H/S/99.

Ash will premiere at the SXSW Film & TV Festival in Austin this year. It will then be released in theaters nationwide on March 21.
