Ever since Captain America: The Winter Soldier came out and we knew Civil War was on its way, it has felt like Chris Evans’ take on the beloved character was on his way out of the MCU. After a handful of films, his arc has seemingly set him up to be a grand savior of the universe in one way or another, with many fans — including us — speculating Avengers 4 would culminate in the character’s demise.
But is this really what’s going to happen to him? A recent post on social media from the actor seemed to hint at the idea that Chris Evans was done with the characters, but of course, that post could also be read as a man celebrating an impressive milestone, regardless of the outcome of the film itself. In a recent interview with AP, Avengers 4 co-director Joe Russo basically explained that, contrary to popular opinion, Evans is not done yet. Here’s what he said.
“I think it was more emotional for him than us, only because he’s not done yet. And I won’t explain what that means, but the audience will soon understand what I’m talking about.”

Holy hell. What in the world is this guy talking about here? Will it be possible that Cap will continue to play a large role in the MCU going forward? More importantly, how did Joe Russo so casually drop a huge bombshell like that?
So it looks like rumors of Cap’s potential death have been a bit exaggerated, haven’t them? Of course, after all this time, we still have no idea what Avengers 4 will be about or what the over style of storytelling will be like, so like everything else, we’ll just have to wait and see, right?
