Bree Larson will star in next year’s Captain Marvel, and will be the first female superhero to carry a movie thus far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character is also set to appear in the still untitled fourth Avengers movie. One of the writers of the Avengers 4, Christopher Markus, recently spoke with Screen Rant and talked about the similarities between Larson’s Captain Marvel and Chris Evans’ Captain America.
“She’s in some ways the closest to Captain America which is a weird, now rare kind of character which is sort of a person who’s right and knows they’re right and doesn’t really want to hear it when you tell them they’re wrong. So, with all these flawed, [frick]ed up people and Quill who’s a mess and Tony who’s a massive ego all contorted. It’s fun to get another person with a clear vision in there going, ‘Shut up.'”

Both character’s stories start in the past, at least before Iron Man came onto the scene, and of course they both carry the rank of captain. So it seems Carol Danvers may be the new voice of reason within the MCU. While Black Widow and Scarlett Witch have represented female heroes quite well up to this point, Captain Marvel will take it to the next level as her powers and abilities are said to be very strong. In fact, studio president Kevin Feige has said that she is the most powerful superhero in the world.
