Avengers: Endgame Could Make $850M To $900M In Worldwide Opening Weekend

Yesterday, I wrote up a piece regarding Avengers: Endgame‘s domestic potential. As far as we know, it could very well take in an unprecedented $300 million in North American alone in its opening weekend, which would shatter the previous record held by Avengers: Infinity War. But in today’s day and age, the North American box office isn’t the end all be all, and in many cases can make up anywhere from 75% to 80% of the total revenue.

With that in mind, we can’t ignore how much the movie will be making across the globe, especially since it will be opening pretty every everywhere humanly possible in the very first weekend — which is both an attempt to help give it that huge financial push at the front, and an attempt to prevent fans from getting spoiled. So, what does this mean for them in terms of the opening weekend numbers?

THR is reporting that the film is projected to take in a $850 million to $900 million, which is nothing to sneeze at. That’s right. Within its first several days of hitting theaters, it will have potentially neared the coveted billion-dollar mark that most other movies can only dream of. For example, the latest successful MCU film, Captain Marvel, took a couple weeks to hit $900 million, and that movie has since gone on to easily pass $1 billion at the box office.

So, yeah, no surprise that Avengers: Endgame is doing gangbusters, but I’m sure plenty of folks out there are now looking to that $2.7 billion mark made by Avatar. Could this be the on to finally break it? Only time will tell.
