UPDATE: Box Office Mojo is reporting that Avengers: Endgame has made $60 million in Thursday screenings, topping Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Okay, so Avengers: Endgame is officially out in theaters for you to check out. If you haven’t seen it already, hopefully, you at least have your tickets, as it will be especially difficult to snag them as positive word of mouth makes its way around — and, oh man, will it ever. But how much did the movie make in those Thursday showings? Those tend to be a barometer of the weekend to come…so where do things stand?

Well, it’s a bit confusing. As of last night, it looked like $43 million in Thursday numbers was what we’d be getting, but according to Deadline, some are expecting it to top Star Wars: The Force Awakens Thursday numbers of $57 million. We will likely have to wait a bit to hear from Disney themselves as to how much it made, but it’s looking pretty great.

For comparison, Captain Marvel, which has since grossed well over $1 billion worldwide, took in $20.7 million in Thursday night screenings. Guardians of the Galaxy took $17 million, and Avengers: Infinity War took in $39 million — and went on to gross over $2 billion. The stage seems to be set for Avengers: Endgame to make a big splash this opening weekend.

Of course, it all won’t end there. We’ll also be keeping our eyes open to see whether or not the film will break some worldwide records. More specifically, will break Titanic and Avatar‘s $2.1 billion and $2.7 billion, respective theatrical runs and become the highest grossing movie of all time? If there’s a movie that deserves it, it’s Avengers: Endgame. But, of course, you never know how things will turn out, but either way, this is a big win for Disney.
