While Avengers: Endgame managed to tie up a lot of loose story threads with a nice little bow, there was still some stuff that was left to the imagination of fans. For example, at the end of the film, Cap has to go back in time and replace all of the Infinity Stones in their respective timelines, including that of the Soul Stone, which should be placed back on the planet of Vormir, where the Red Skull resides.
With that in mind, many of us could only wonder what was going to happen when Cap came across the enemy from his first movie. How would such an exchange play out? Unfortunately, we’ll likely never see the interaction, but Cinema Blend did have a chance to sit down with directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who pretty much confirmed that this would need to happen.

“He would have to encounter Red Skull,” Joe stated. “Nobody knows what the rules are when you return the Soul Stone.”
Anthony added:
“Knowing Red Skull, he probably has a ‘no money back’ policy.”
So, for those who were hoping he’d be able to retrieve Natasha, you’d be outta luck.
Unfortunately, they didn’t dive deep into the specific exchange. We didn’t get to hear whether or not would simply point his finger at Red Skull and say “You!” or if Red Skull would harbor any ill will toward Captain America for the way things turned out int hat first movie. I guess we’ll have to continue imagining that exchange in our heads.
How do you expect the exchange to go? Let us know your thoughts down below!
