It may come as no surprise to you to hear that Avengers: Infinity War has already broken some box office records. As many of you know, the film’s advance tickets went on sale earlier this morning in conjunction with the release of the brand-new trailer (which we’ve already picked to pieces in previous articles), and within six hours, it’s already broken some records.

According to THR, the superhero team-up flick has set Fandango record for fastest-selling superhero movie in the first 24 hours of pre-sales. This record was previously held by 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Obviously, because this is just a pre-sales deal (and within such a short timeframe, and with only one company), we don’t have exact numbers, but the fact that this record has been set over so short a period of time is crazy.

That being said, this makes a lot of sense. As big as movies like Batman v Superman and Black Panther are, Avengers: Infinity War has a lot of people excited, thanks to the rich history Marvel Studios has given the franchise over the course of the past 10 years. This is their biggest film to date, and considering just how well-received their films continue to be, it makes sense that this would sell big.
