According to the latest Barside Buzz the filming of Avengers: Secret Wars has been delayed till January, 2027, though no sign of a release date change. I almost covered this yesterday but if I had it would have been an incorrect article, let me explain. Yesterday leaker Daniel RPK came out to say he had heard Secret Wars, which was due to begin filming very soon, was delayed till possibly November.

The main reason I didn’t cover it is because I didn’t think a month delay was noteworthy given nothing was ever official. However, Daniel then came out and said he was wrong and the delay could be longer. Before he could confirm it, ApocHorseman claimed the date will be January, 2027 and Daniel backed this up later.

Apoc went on to say this,

‘To clarify the exact dates I heard were like January then wrap in like late April or in May. That would leave them 7-8 months for post. I wouldn’t jump to any conclusions about delays yet. It’s not ideal but not impossible.’

When one viewer pointed out this will clash with Tom Holland’s Fred Astaire biopic Apoc said,

‘He’s in this. They’re working around both schedules. But honestly he’s probably only going to shoot for a little bit so I doubt it’ll be an issue.’

Now, Delaying filming on Secret Wars to January is a much bigger story. After all, the film is due for release in December, 2027, given them less than a year from the start of production to release.

The question on everyone’s lips is, will Secret Wars be delayed? Both Daniel and Apoc have said they have no hints at a release date delay, yet. However, you still wonder if they can really pull this off?

From a studio point of view it’s important for Marvel to get Secret Wars out on time, or they’ll have no movies out for an entire year. There’s also the current slate which has X-Men, Ghost Rider and Black Panther 3 all coming out in 2028. January was about when we expect X-Men to begin filming if not before.

I guess we wait to see if a delay does happen and what kind of impact that would have? In the meantime, far as we know, Secret Wars filming won’t begin till January, 2027. As always, leave any thoughts below.
