Ayo Edebiri Rumored To Be Playing Songbird In Thunderbolts | Barside Buzz

Some surprising casting news today as we discover both Wendell Pierce and Chris Bauer have been cast in Thunderbolts*.

The latest Barside Buzz is that Ayo Edebiri is playing Songbird in Thunderbolts. The TMNT: Mutant Mayhem star has officially been cast in Thunderbolts but in an undisclosed role. Well, the latest rumor from a reliable insider from TCC is that she is playing classic Marvel character Songbird.

As you can see from the quote Alex is replying to Edebiro has sort of opened up a little about Thunderbolts in a recently published interview with Backstage.

(Note, This interview and photo shoot were conducted prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike.)

Here is that quote to read more easily from Edebiri.

“I love being a sponge. I just want to learn as much as possible,” she says. “I’m excited [for ‘Thunderbolts’] because I don’t know; and to me, that’s cool. I feel like those are always the situations that I’ve benefited from the most. If I don’t know what I’m going to learn, that’s the best possible scenario for me.”

Thunderbolts is yet to film as production was delayed due to the ongoing strikes.

Interesting if true. Songbird is a popular character among Marvel fans. Online the most common response I am seeing is that Songbird would be a great addition to the team, who are otherwise quite similar.

So, latest Barside Buzz is that Ayo Edebiri is playing Songbird in Thunderbolts. What do you think of this if true? Thoughts below as always.
