“We ride together, we die together Bad Boys for life.” A quote from the last time we saw Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as LAPD Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Bennett back in 2003 almost sixteen years ago, in Bad Boys 2 directed by Michael Bay. This of course was the sequel to Bad Boys, which came out back in 1995 also directed by Bay. Feeling old yet?
A third film featuring this crime fighting duo is scheduled to be released in January, 2020 titled Bad Boys For Life. This film has been stuck for a long time in development as the original director Bay, dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. Then it was left to Joe Carnahan, also a screenwriter for the film, to direct but that also didn’t work out. Now the duties of director have fallen on Adil Arbi and Bilall Fallah from a script written by Carnahan, Peter Craig and Chris Bremmer.
Today we finally got a synopsis for the long awaited third Bad Boys film as we will see the Lowrey and Bennett go up against another drug cartel with a target on one of their lives. Check it out below!
The new installment centers on the Miami PD and its elite AMMO team’s attempt to take down Armando Armas (Scipio), head of a drug cartel. Armando is a cold-blooded killer with a vicious, taunting nature. He is committed to the work of the cartel and is dispatched by his mother to kill Mike (Smith). Nuñez will take on the role of Rite, the tough and funny criminal psychologist who is the newly appointed head of AMMO and Mike’s former girlfriend- and the one who got away.
Along with Smith and Lawrence, Bad Boys for Life stars Paola Nuñez, Jacob Scipio, Alexander Ludwig, Vanessa Hudgens and Charles Melton. The film is set to start production sometime next month.
