Known the world over, the Hollywood Walk of Fame cements an actor or performer into confirmed celebrity status. Sure, lots of ‘famous’ people don’t have one but it is one of the clubs in Tinseltown that most desire to be a member of. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Selection Committee has announced the newest public figures to be given their own star.
One honoree stands out from the rest as he isn’t even real, however, this makes him no less of a celebrity as the Dark Knight himself, Batman, will be receiving a star on the Walk of Fame. Quite the honor for the Caped Crusader as he joins only 17 other fictional characters to have a star on the Walk.
The list of other inductees includes Wendy Williams and Andy Cohen, Christina Applegate, and the black Keanu Reeves, Terry Crews as well as Chris Hemsworth, Lee Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Oscar winner Octavia Spencer, and the Dark Knight himself, Batman.
Musical additions to the walk are as follows Tanya Tucker, Billy Idol, Alicia Keys, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and arguably the greatest stand-up comedian of all time, Dave Chappelle. Selection committee chair, Vin Di Bona, had the following to say about this year’s new members, you can check it out below.
“This year’s choices were particularly unique. We were able to recognize the talents of 35 artists who have already built a legacy here in Hollywood. Also, we were able to celebrate many new talented artists who’ve touched our hearts in film, television, radio and a variety of musical categories,”

The Walk of Fame has long been a popular destination for tourists who want even a little taste of that Hollywood limelight. I’m not sure the qualifications or by what criteria a person is given a star on the walk, but it seems like a a few of the folks that I mentioned above, would already have their stars.
