Today BBC America has released a new trailer for their newest original series, The Watch. The series follows your traditional unlikely group of misfits called The City Watch. Like any great group of misfits, they are going to have to find the guts to save the world. This comedic and thrilling series puts your favorite mythical creatures including trolls, werewolves, wizards, and others against the forces of evil. Forces that are trying to resurrect a great dragon. One that will lead to the destruction of life as we know it.

The Watch comes from lead writer and executive producer Simon Allen. It is inspired by the characters created by Sir Terry Pratchett’s famous Discworld novels. This includes the captain of The City Watch Sam Vimes, played by Richard Dormer. The last scion of nobility Lady Sybil Ramkin, played by Lara Rossi. The naive yet heroic Carrot, played by Adam Hugill. The mysterious Angua, played by Marama Corlett. The ingenious forensics expert Cheery, played by Jo Eaton-Kent. As well as The Watch’s own idiosyncratic depiction of Death, played by Wendell Pierce.
Along with them the series also stars Samuel Adewunmi, Matt Berry, Anna Chancellor, James Fleet, Bianca Simone Mannie, Ralph Ineson, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Paul Kaye, Ruth Madeley, and Ingrid Oliver.
Serving as executive producers on The Watch are Hilary Salmon, Ben Donald, and Richard Stokes for BBC Studios. Rob Wilkins for Narrativia, Simon Allen, and Craig Viveiros. Johann Knobel is the series producer of The Watch, and Simon Rogers is the production designer. BBC Studios is handling distribution internationally.

The Watch looks like it is going to be a fun series. It gives me Dungeons and Dragons vibes. In the sense that the diverse group is something that I would see in a campaign. Also, the fact that they have a quest to stop the evildoers from releasing a deadly dragon. What do you think of the latest trailer for The Watch? Let us know in the comment section below!
