Well this is a turnaround, Benedict Cumberbatch now says he IS in Avengers: Doomsday after all. As you know, last week Cumberbatch explained he wasn’t in Doomsday but would have a big role in Secret Wars. However, in a recent interview with Business Insider, Cumberbatch walks back his comments and says we should not listen to him. We should never listen to any of them to be fair.
“I got that wrong, I am in the next one,” Cumberbatch responded. “Don’t ever believe anything I say.”
How did he get that wrong? Well, did he? Honestly this feels more to me like Marvel didn’t want that out there and asked him to walk back his comments. Or he was told he’ll be in a post-credit scene and therefore he is in the film. Either way it seems unlikely Cumberbatch wasn’t aware he’ll be really busy this later this year filming. I’m sure his schedule is already planned for the year ahead. Therefore, it does seem unlikely that Cumberbatch has much of a role in the film. I guess we shall see?

As pointed out by a lot of fans, there seems some ground to make up with Strange before we get to that point. I am surprised we are not getting Doctor Strange 3 before or in between Doomsday/Secret Wars. Yet, it does seem like that’s the case. If there is a DS3, it is in early development only and no sign it films anytime soon.
I guess we will see come filming who is all spotted in an around the area? My bet, and it is just a guess, is the post-credit scene option.
