- Best Limited Series – A limited series comic that concluded in a comic that was released in 2021, not cover date
- Best Single Issue or One Shot
- Best Cliffhanger or Moment – A cliffhanger or moment in a comic that was released in 2021, not cover date
- Best Storyline – A storyline from a comic that was released in 2021
- Best Sleeper of Surprise Hit – A comic that first appeared on the stands in 2021, not cover date, not not enough people are reading or you feel took everyone by surprise
- Best Ongoing Comic – Does not have to have been released for the first time in 2021
- Best Graphic Novel – Can be an original graphic novel or reprinted material collected in graphic novel format
