Zombieland was a pretty good movie for a variety of reasons. It had a talented cast, a funny script, an overall solid concept, and it came out in an era where zombies were super popular. All in all, it made for a good time in the theater. And, oh yeah, we can’t forget that time it had Bill Murray appear in an extended cameo sequence.
Ever since we learned there would be a sequel film, fans have been wondering how they’d top that. Our own James Burns went to f**king Sony and asked director Ruben Fleischer how they’d top that, and the answer was that they wouldn’t even try.

Well, Ruben Fleischer is a damn liar, because, in the new red band trailer, we see none other than Bill Murray back in action (even though it may be a flashback sequence or fourth-wall-breaking sequence, he’s still there, so I’m counting it).
Below is the official synopsis for Zombieland: Double Tap:
“A decade after Zombieland became a hit film and a cult classic, the lead cast (Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone) have reunited with director Ruben Fleischer (Venom) and the original writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Deadpool) for Zombieland: Double Tap. In the sequel, written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and Dave Callaham, through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, these four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”
So, with Murray back in the saddle, there’s no telling what other surprises are in store for us. Even though all the stuff we’ve seen of the film (which you can read up on HERE), it’s impossible to take any of it seriously. Fleischer has essentially turned into a J.J. Abrams-level liar. Great work.
