Bill & Ted: Face The Music Trailer and poster

Bill & Ted Face the Music doesn’t yet seem to have an official release date. The trailer just says Summer, 2020, which is kinda now. One assumes that Orion Pictures are waiting to see just when theaters open back up for business. As for the trailer itself, I’m not sure what I think yet? This is only a teaser trailer after all, but there was nothing in this trailer that jumped out to make me excited. I genuinely don’t know if I still like the previous two Bill & Ted movies. I loved them as a young teenager, but that was a long time ago, and I’ve changed a lot. Damn, I really need to watch those movies again to see if I still ‘get’ the humor. If I do, I’m sure I’ll also like Face the Music, but if my opinion has changed, I might be less excited for this movie.

This is a sequel to a movie that came out around 29 years ago. Is 29 years too long to wait for Bill & Ted 3? I guess that depends on the movie. It looks as though both Bill & Ted haven’t done much since they rocked the world as Wyld Stallions. The ending of Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey made it pretty clear that the boys had grown up and achieved their goals. Didn’t Wyld Stallions play on Mars for a start? Thus to come back to the well now, and for the audience to imagine the world being as it is now, seems a little off to me. I know, it’s a comedy film, but I personally would hold most comedy movies to a higher standard of continuity, depending on how farcical the story is.

I guess I really need to re-watch those Bill & Ted movies, as maybe when I do I’ll realize it doesn’t really matter? If Bill & Ted Face the Music is hitting screens this summer, then I better get onto that re-watch pretty sharpish. What do you think of the Bill & Ted Face the Music trailer and poster? Leaving your thoughts below would be most excellent, skipping them, totally bogus, so don’t be a heinous dude.
