DC’s next big movie set to hit after Wonder Woman 1984 is said to be Birds of Prey, and with production hitting as early as January of 2019, you know that they’re hard at work trying to figure out who they can get to take on some of DC’s most iconic female roles alongside Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn.
Well, the folks over at The GWW have some sources over at Warner Bros., and according to them, they are looking to fill the roles of Huntress and Black Canary…but who does the studio want to play them? Three big names being thrown around are Blake Lively, Alexandra Daddario, and Vanessa Kirby.
Let’s start with perhaps the biggest name with Blake Lively. The actress has been in such big films as The Town and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Damn right, I’ll count that), and she most recently held up a film all on her own with the 2016 shark film The Shallows. Perhaps most notably, she starred alongside her now-husband Ryan Reynolds in the god-awful Green Lantern film, another DC joint.
Next up is Daddario, who has had a mixed career ranging from the failed YA Percy Jackson movies to standard Dwayne Johnson fare like San Andreas and Baywatch. She also has made her mark on TV with series like American Horror Story and the first season of True Detective.
Finally, we have Vanessa Kirby, who last appeared in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, but who also played Princess Margaret on The Crown and Lady Jemima Hervey on The Frankenstein Chronicles. Frankly, she’s the one I know least about, but at least has the look of a villainous.
It’s not clear which actresses they’re thinking of for which role, but I’m sure you all have your opinions down below. Do you think any of these actresses would be good for either role? Let us know your thoughts down below!
