Black Adam May Make His First Appearance In Suicide Squad 2

Remember when Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was cast as Black Adam in the DC Extended Universe? Remember when DC announced he wasn’t actually going to be the villain in Shazam, and would instead be introduced in his own solo movie? Well, hold on to your hats, folks.

The Wrap now reports that Suicide Squad 2 may be the film to actually introduce The Rock’s Black Adam.

Insiders told The Wrap that the current plan for Suicide Squad 2 is to have the team tasked with tracking down a weapon of mass destruction. And that weapon of mass destruction is… The Rock! I mean… Black Adam!

Suicide Squad 2 will be written and possibly directed by Gavin O’Connor, best known for directing Warrior and The Accountant. The film is scheduled to start shooting in October 2018, though Johnson will also be filming Disney’s Jungle Cruise, his Fast and Furious spinoff with Jason Statham, and a potential fifth season of HBO’s Ballers around the same time. This shouldn’t have much impact on Suicide Squad 2, as the insiders say Black Adam’s part shouldn’t take long to shoot.

Do you think Suicide Squad 2 is the right venue to introduce Black Adam? Or would you still rather see him introduced in Shazam, or even Man of Steel 2, as was once rumored? Or is it best to go straight into a solo film? Let us know in the comment section below!
