We’re hoping you had a wonderful New Year’s weekend, but amid the champagne and cheese platters, we also hope you had a chance to check out Black Mirror: Bandersnatch on Netflix. While the actual reception seems to be relatively split among fandom, it’s definitely worth watching (playing?) through at least once, just to go through the experience.

Given its game-like nature, which reportedly includes several branching narratives, five endings, over five hours of footage, and over a trillion permutations, one can understand that a lot of time, blood, sweat, and tears went into this. But does this mean the impending fifth season of the show has been delayed?

In a recent report from THR, it was confirmed by show producer Annabel Jones that yes, Season 5 has indeed be delayed. But, if all goes according to plan, it doesn’t sound like it’s delayed it by a whole lot, as it is still expected to hit Netflix at some point in 2019. But given how unique of a project Bandersnatch was for those involved, it does seem like it was a worthwhile experience.

“This is a huge, interesting new opportunity for Netflix that we’re a part of,” Jones said to the outlet. “One of the benefits about being on Netflix is that rather than being a sci-fi show from the U.K., you are Netflix’s new show. And people will inadvertently come and find you.”
