There were a few Black Panther 2 rumors that hot over the weekend. M’Baku as the next Panther, not Shuri? However Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently on hiatus due to Letitia Wright’ injury, so lets start with something more than a rumor from THR who say Wright is due back and filming will resume in January.
And while we’re here … Letitia Wright and Black Panther 2 started trending Thursday with some rumors coming in from the lowlands. We did some digging and sources close to the production say Panther 2 is indeed on track to resume production in late January in Atlanta. With Wright.
Given some of the detail shared below by My Time To Shine Hello, who has a great Marvel record recently for leaks, it makes sense Wright’s presence is needed to carry the filming on.
So here are some facts about Black Panther 2 (Spoilers ahead)
-It's an ensemble piece with Shuri as the lead
-Riri is the linchpin
-Shuri will wear her own Black Panther suit in the movie, other characters too
-HOWEVER Shuri is NOT the next Black Panther

You heard right. He's not the lead of Black Panther 2 but he gets the mantle from Shuri https://t.co/RZzSKiDUYc

So the leaker here is saying that Wright is the lead of Wakanda Forever, but it is an ensemble piece with Riri Williams is the linchpin. This all makes sense with other things we have heard set photo’s etc. But what is brand new information is that M’Baku and not Shuri is who will take on the mantle at the end of Wakanda Forever, and presumably into Black Panther 3.

I’ve also heard talk of a son being born to Nakia, with the father obviously being T’Challa. Theoretically this child could be as old as 8 by the time of Wakanda Forever, if he was conceived before the blip. A little too young even for a Young Avengers appearance for now, but down the line this could be where Marvel are taking things. What if M’Baku is taking on the mantle until the young prince is ready? Then again, I don’t now how accurate those kid rumors are, so I’ll stop speculating wildly for a moment.
What do you think of these Black Panther 2 rumors? Would you like to see M’Baku take the mantle from Shuri at the end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever? Thoughts below as always.
