Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Michael B Jordan Would Love To Return

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever got the that title update yesterday during Marvel’s Phase 4 sizzle reel. Formally Black Panther 2 (duh), little is known about the film. What we do know is that T’Challa, the last film’s Black Panther, will not be recast after Chadwick Boseman’s passing.

Though the title suggests the sequel may focus more on the nation as a whole, one would hope someone takes up the mantle of Black Panther. We do need a lead, and it is called Black Panther: Wakanda Forever after all.

So, who will take up the mantle? All signs point to T’Challa’s younger sister Shuri, but that’s not the only option.

Though he was a villain in the first film, some want Michael B. Jordan’s Erik Killmonger to take up the mantle of Black Panther. Even though he appeared to die in the first film. After all, the actor and character seem to be Marvel Cinematic Universe fan favorites like Loki and Zemo.

ET had an interview with the star of Without Remorse. Jordan was asked if he’s heard anything about returning to the MCU for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever:

There’s always a love I have for those characters and Erik is definitely one of those that means a lot to me. So only if it’s the right thing and it’s impactful and if I could add something to it. If it means something then, yeah, I wanna be a part of that journey, you know?

The actor admitted he has not heard anything about returning for the sequel, though he is sure he will work with director Ryan Cooglar again.
