Black Widow: Trailer Breakdown Shows Some Time Spent In The Past

One Black Widow Will Be Back Says Marvel Boss Kevin Feige

The first trailer for Black Widow hit today and we thought it best to slow that mother down and take a good hard look at some screenshots, like we usually do with Marvel and Star Wars movies. So let’s get right to it, and we start with what appears to be moments from Natasha’s past, we see the Ballet school here, (already seen in flashbacks in Avengers: Age of Ultron) as well as a young version of Natasha herself.

Next, we have another in the past shot, and something I was not expecting. The following shot is of General Ross aka William Hurt and he appears to be far younger here, again, I assume this is something from Nat’s past and I do wonder whether this film may be the first step towards Thunderbolts?

We also see a brief shot of Sam Jackson as Nick Fury, though this shot is taken from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, so I do wonder what kind of role Nick Fury will have in this, if at all. That remains to be seen.

We see a small scene where Nat goes in looking for what seems to be an old friend or colleague and the pair spar a little before talking normally, the below shot is a sort of standoff between the two assassins (my guess).

Oh, and if anyone can tell me this location — because I’m not very good with geography — then let me know in the comments section below, I am assuming this is Russia, but I am just guessing really.

Lets get to Red Guardian shall we, we all thought David Harbour’s character would be an antagonist in this movie, but it looks as though he is firmly on Nat’s team here. so far, Red Guardian looks fun, an overweight, unkempt, and probably drunk version of Captain America. Count me in on this one.

We also see a shot of Red Guardian about to go toe to toe with this chap, who I am not quite sure if this is Taskmaster or not. It doesn’t look exactly like him from the later shots below, but it could well be.

This next one I have used as the thumbnail for this article, just because its such a damn cool shot. I have no idea if this is Nat or someone else, and right now I don’t care, it’s just really cool, so here it is.

You would imagine this shot has some connection with the below shot. I’ll guess this is someone training a new generation of Black Widow-like killers, perhaps our first clue at a possible plot for this movie?

Finally, a series of shots showing some pretty good looking action scenes, Nat in a cool white suit, Taskmaster getting ready to shoot someone with his bow and arrow and even a free fall fight which looks very fun, check them out.

So, what do you think, did we miss anything important? Does anyone have an idea of what is going on here based on the screenshots? What importance does General Ross play and how often are we going to go into the past here?
