Blade casts Delroy Lindo in an undisclosed role reports THR. The veteran actor, whom I’m sure you’ll recognize above, has been cast in the upcoming MCU Blade movie starring Mahershala Ali. To be specific THR says in final negotiations for the role, but at that point it is rare for things to fall apart. Blade will be directed by Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli) and Stacy Osei-Kuffour (Watchmen TV) is writing. The trade reported:
According to sources, the project is due to begin shooting in late summer 2022.
Of course Mahershala Ali has kinda already made his MCU Debut twice already. The Luke Cage show, which is no longer MCU canon, was Ali’s first flirtation with Marvel. However the actor’s voice as Blade was heard for the first time in a post-credit scene within Eternals.
There have also been rumors that Blade will connect with Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night Halloween Special, and possibly even Sony’s Morbius movie going forward. Given that the Eternals character Blade speaks to is Dane Whitman, it is also thought Black Knight could appear for the first time in one of these future projects. But really that’s all just fan speculation for now.

As for Lindo, who could he be playing? Honestly at this point it could be anyone. However I must admit my mind immediately went to Whistler for some reason. To Me Lindo would make a great grizzled old Whistler Vampire Hunter teaching his young protégé and providing him with support. However, that’s just one character we would image we will see in Blade. There’s no guarantee of Whistler even being in the MCU version. So this is just pure speculation on my part and he could be playing anyone.
